Staff Wellbeing and Professional Development

November 24, 2024

At Rompers, we believe that happy, healthy staff members are the cornerstone of providing exceptional care and education for the children we serve. That's why we place such a strong emphasis on supporting the wellbeing of our team. After all, when our staff feels valued, supported, and nurtured, they are better equipped to do the same for the children in their care.

Working in a children's nursery can be incredibly rewarding, but it also comes with its challenges. From the physical demands of caring for young children to the emotional energy required to foster a nurturing learning environment, it's essential that those who work in early childhood education feel supported both professionally and personally. At Rompers, we recognise that the wellbeing of our staff is not just an afterthought—it’s a top priority.

Happy and healthy staff members are more engaged, more resilient, and more enthusiastic in their roles. They bring positivity and energy into the classroom, creating a richer and more stimulating experience for the children. By prioritising staff wellbeing, we create a workplace where our team members feel valued, respected, and motivated to give their best each day.

This year as part of our Appraisal programme our PDP's (personal development plans) meetings will take place every 3 months and as well as professional development, they will be focussed on wellbeing also. Using the Care Inspectorate Safe and Effective Staffing Guidance we have created our own format to discuss, reflect and support wellbeing in the setting. We look forward to seeing the impact of this enhancement over the year.
