Outdoor Experiences
“It empowers children to feel as though they can try new things in a supervised, safe environment”
In June, we have all been loving the sunshine after a very rainy May. The outdoor area and classroom have been in full swing with all of the children taking part in the water, sand, small world and physical play. The children have the freedom to choose what they want to do and explore what interests them with having the outdoor area open and accessible throughout the nursery day. Preschool have been taking part in potion making through the use of the mud kitchen, promoting their experimenting, pouring and mathematical language. The toddlers have displayed a keen interest in water play and developing their sensory awareness through splashing and pouring using jugs and bowls. In the baby garden, the older babies have been practicing their gross motor skills through balancing and jumping using the balancing beams and community blocks, whereas the younger babies have been getting a feel of the sand and enjoying exploring their senses through play.
