Me, My Family and My Childcare Setting
At our September staff meeting we took some time to consider our why of practice at Rompers. To do this we split into room teams to reflect on recent experiences and events we have been doing to consider how these met the individual needs of our children.
Team leaders gave an input at the meeting on a new Care Inspectorate document - My, My Family and My Childcare Setting. This supported staff to understand key messages in the document and what it means for practice in the setting. We then moved into our improvement plan groups and spent time thinking about how we can action practice. This is a really important document which can support us in building stronger relationships with our children and families. We know that in doing so we are supporting our children’s learning and development.

We then took this thinking into our quality assurance for the month as we reviewed QI 1.3 – play and learning from the Care Inspectorate’s quality framework. We thought lots about what we are currently doing and how we can support the children to be more independent in their own care as we provide them guidance.
