Home Link Projects
Over the past month to further support learning at home, each room team has developed a home link project to support children and families to learn together.
In our baby room, our teddy bear we go home with one child every week. We encourage families to encourage teddy bear to join in with family life at home and take lots of pictures to share with the baby room. Once the photos are shared with nursery, a member of staff from the baby room will create a small story book to allow the child to revisit the photos in nursery.
In our toddler room, the children are really interested in arts and crafts. To support their interest, the Toddlers will take turns to take home an art bag to create a picture and bring it back to show their friends at nursery. The children are really enjoying showcasing their work in the setting and families are sharing photos via the Parent Link app.
In our pre-school room the children are enjoying taking their learning journal bags home to share with family members. Children are encouraged to talk about their learning at home as adults can write what children are taking about at home. This is then shared during key worker time back in the setting.
