Engagement at Rompers
Family Welcome Days
Our Family Welcome Days continue to play an important role in building relationships between nursery and home, offering families the chance to explore the environment, speak with staff, and share in their child’s learning experience.
Over the past seven months, attendance has varied month to month across age groups. In total, 52% of children have been represented by at least one family member during this time—a positive sign of engagement, with room to grow.
These sessions have had a positive impact on children’s learning and development by strengthening their sense of belonging and pride in their environment. When children see their families engaging with staff and showing interest in their experiences, it boosts their confidence, encourages communication, and supports deeper connections between home and nursery learning.
Parent Inbox
The Parent Inbox has become a valuable tool for strengthening the home-nursery connection.
Since August, 60% of families have engaged with it.
Many parents have used it to upload photos from home, holidays, and special family moments. These contributions have added a lovely personal touch to our nursery displays and helped spark conversations and learning opportunities with the children.
The Parent Inbox has supported children’s learning and development by helping them make connections between their home and nursery experiences. Sharing photos and stories from home encourages language development, boosts self-esteem, and helps children feel recognised and valued. These shared moments also provide staff with meaningful opportunities to extend learning based on each child’s interests and experiences.
