Developing Provocations
In February the staff team took part in a training experience focussing on provocations and how these could be taken forward in the nursery.
A provocation is is an open ended activity that doesn't have a prescribed outcome. These are designed to stimulate ideas, initiative and imagination within children. All room practitioners have taken part in recent training exploring the key features of a high quality provocation. This discussion has been developed back in the nursery setting.
Staff watched an informative video about these provocations and had a detailed discussion on how and why we use provocations to support the children with their learning and development.
At Rompers we set up provocations to provoke the children's curiosity and creativity and develop their further learning of an interest.
